I’m not much in favor of stereotypes. Labeling of another person is something that is downright insulting and history has shown us that this sort of attitude has claimed lives and started wars. This may be of some truth, but it is also true that a lot of archetypes are taboo because they are explicitly negative or have negative connotations. A positive stereotype can be useful, however.

Take the people living in the State of Minnesota, for example. They are generally accepted as, “nice guys”; they won’t go out of their way to please you, but they are quite willing to entertain their visitors. Of course, I’m not saying that all people living in Minnesota are kind; what I’m saying, rather, is that it is always a pleasant surprise whenever you experience this genuine kindness.

This good-natured tendency is something that they extend to outsiders, as well as to themselves. So it doesn’t come as a surprise that people in Minnesota have a strong sense of community and culture. This includes the State’s classic holiday dishes, movies and manners. It goes without saying that they have an amazing selection of fairs and festivals as well.

But it’s at these festivals wherein their hospitality shines. Their State Fair is known as The Great Minnesota Get-Together. The agreeable demeanor of these people is one of the primary reasons that this fair is always flocked to by a lot of people. You’re sure to be charmed by their hospitality and you’ll enjoy your stay.

Another aspect of the Minnesota fair you may like is the countless numbers of arts and crafts that you’re able to see. The juried show is what they call crop art, and participants are challenged to make an artwork out of plant material. This gives craftwork a unique twist and yet the finished product will last for a while.
