North Carolina Nude Photography
Nude photography has been a constant topic of debates especially among womens advocate organizations. They condemn this art as an excuse for pornography and exploitation of the models private body. They say that posing nude is just an excuse for soft pornography. A gallery exhibit at North Carolina is a collaboration of two prolific painters namely: Caroline Vaughan and Wojtek Wojdinski. Their exhibition focused on the most controversial subject which is Nudity.
Vaughans works include images of women and landscapes. Nudity amidst landscape images of waterfalls, farm, barren land and desert are what mainly comprises this talented artists portfolio. There were in fact two photographs that brought shock and awe to the spectators. The photographs consist of an image of a nude, sick woman undergoing chemotherapy and the other image showing the aftermath of her breast amputation surgery.
Wojdinskis images are also very appealing and great. He was able to capture the beauty of the human body using different techniques of playing with light and shadow. There was an image of a black man staring out of a window in a wistful manner that garnered praises and acclaims for critics. The image featured the well-chiseled body and muscular tone amidst the dimly lit room. The mans muscle lines were very well defined through the dimly lit room.
The exhibit was not really pornographic. It was able to receive acclaims and respectful nods by art critics of North Carolina. Advocate organization representatives who were so keen in the subject of nude photography kept mum and a word of retaliation was never heard. It may indeed be a proof that the exhibit was a huge success.
