A lot of people are saying that it is impossible to make money online with the use of adsense. They claim that all you make are pennies and it is not worth it. This is a statement that is almost as untrue as it can be.
The problem most of these people have is that they don’t understand how adsense works. They think that they can just slap the adsense box up wherever they want and the cash will start rolling in. This is the classic way of how not to do it.
Adsense was (and still is) a program that is meant to make money for Google and the advertisers. The publishers, me and you, are the last ones in the line. We are just a mean for them to reach their goal.
Google want to keep their advertisers happy. Therefore they want to provide them with as good clicks as they can. They only place ads on pages that are relevant to the ads themselves. This makes the visitors to the pages more likely to buy something when they actually click an ad.
Every keyword has different competition. This also means that every keyword pay different. The ones with the most competition pay more than keywords with less competition. Regular bloggers ignore this and keep on blogging about random stuff.
When they finally, by some miracle, gets someone to click one of their ads, they only receive 5 cent. It is simply because the advertisers don’t pay a lot for clicks on blogging.
There are a few simple steps that you can take to avoid being put in the same category as these newbies, and make some money with adsense.
The first thing is that you should target keywords that actually pay something AND has traffic. Check your keywords in the adwords keyword tool and you will get a good idea.
Secondly you need to make sure that your traffic is targeted. This usually means that it should come from search engines. Use SEO techniques to rank high for your keywords.
Thirdly, and very important, if you want to make money with adsense, forget about the social traffic. It will only get you smart priced. If your site has a lot of social traffic, wait with adding adsense until you have about 70% of your traffic from search engines.
